Green Zone

caught the movie, "Green Zone" at home from tom365. the movie's about the title character (Matt Damon) questioning the intel that the US govt provided in their search for Weapons of Mass Destruction. Through his investigation, he realised that there was something bigger going on and realises that they may be going to war for all the wrong reasons, or worse, NO reasons.

The show's pretty good as Matt Damon is a really good actor. and the director has worked with him in past movies like the Bourne Identity series hence the show's similar to the Bourne movies in certain ways.

I like the movie as i feel it has some political undertones to it. it really leads us to question, what really sparked a war between the US and Iraq and was it really necessary? also, do they have the right to just come into a country and start dictating rules when you urself is a country that promotes democracy? lastly, it makes one think, can ppl really trust the govt totally or are there any facts or truth that are hidden from us. we never know.

hmmm. food for thought.

kick-ass review

watched kick-ass yesterday. fuggin awesome film.

quote "Come on,be honest with yourself. At some point in our lives, we all want to be a superhero."

and that's the premise of the film. the film's main character, Dave, is ur typical geek that is invisible to everybody in school except for fellow geeks. He grew up being bullied constantly and jerks off while thinking of his middle-aged teacher. Dave always thought of being a superhero and one day, ordered a wetsuit. with that, Kick-Ass is born.

And so the movie follows the exploits of Kick-Ass and how other characters, Hit-Girl, Big Daddy and Red Mist came into the picture. The movie has plenty of funny dialogue and quotes, entertaining audiences throughout the whole movie. However, some ppl may be put off by the violent scenes but to me, its pretty much okay. (:

the soundtrack used in the movie is really good and the director did well to use a great score that leads to the climax of the movie. loving the music.

all in all, the show's a 4.5/5 so go catch it. Its THAT good.

and i'm gonna buy the graphic novel. geekness.

2nd year

Haven been blogging in like years but here's one entry thanks to the persistent nagging of the girl.

celebrated our 2nd year on 25th march and on 27th march, thursday and saturday respectively. went to eat everything with fries on thurs at holland v. was freaking full from the food but it was good food nevertheless. haha. we also presented each other with the gifts that we bought and amazingly, both of us bought watches for each other. how coincidental was that? heh.

gf got me a ted baker watch (WOW) while i got her a solvil titus watch(HMMM). the sucky thing was she had to change the watch cos the colour was wrong. i got her a pink watch. LOL.

anyway, on the 27th, we went to have a good dinner at food for thought restaurant @ queen st. btw, i was the one who thought of the place so kudos to me. hahaha. had potato gratin, fries and pasta. the food was good and atmosphere was nice too. for the service, it was fantastic. pricing-wise, it isn't too steep either as there's no service charge. (thumbs up) needless to say, i'll definitely head back there for dinner esp the crispy curry chicken tat i missed! T_T

finally, thanks to bee for the wonderful two years that we had. there may be highs and lows but the fact that we're still together means obstacles can be overcome. and lets keep the lows at the minimum, shall we?

alright, finally caught the movie Avatar after around 2weeks since it was released.

The movie was much-hyped when it was given rave reviews after its world premiere featuring ground-breaking special effects and an epic storyline.

I watched the movie in 3D and i gotta admit that the graphics were really damm good and the music in the movie suits it really well.

The storyline of how humans tried to take over/ possess something through force truly reflects the ugliness of our human nature and how greed often blinds us, leading to our destruction.

The fact that James Cameron had created an entire new world with the race of the Na`vi was also amazing itself. The planet of Pandora has its own ecosystem, the wildlife is realli unique although there are similarities from the animals of our world. The director paid attention to even the smallest detail, breathing in life into this world that he created. The language of the Na`vi were also amazingly believeable and did not sound like just gibberish.

Truly, this movie is one of the best films ever released for the year 2009 or even for the past 5 years. I rate it 4.5 out of 5. Its worth the ticket price. Trust me. (:

went partying on the recent friday before benji goes off to brunei. awwww. anyway, the night started off promising enough with tons of alcohol that me and the juniors brought. adding to the fact that they bought another four bottles of beer and we're on the way to high-ness. hahaha.

however in the midst of partying in the night, i dropped my phone somewhere and couldn't find it. fml for that. since i couldn't contact anyone, i'm stuck with going home alone. double fml.

had always wanted to blog about this but just din had the time plus plain lazy-ness got the better of me.

anyway back to the entry, caught (500) days of Summer.

its a great show really. basically its about this dude who thought that he has found his "perfect girl" and falls madly in love. however the catch is that the lady is someone who does not believe in true love. awwwww. the line, "Lets keep it casual." just works wonders.

boy meets girl. boy loves girl. girl doesn't end up with boy.

the show mentioned that its not a love story but a story about love. how true it is. there are actually some lessons about love that we can learn from the show, esp how to handle a breakup mainly when you breakup, the best way to get over it is to stop thinking about all the good times during the relationship but instead, focus on all the negative stuff that happened in the relationship. pretty logical right?

all in all i rate the movie 4.5/5.

went swimming today at the HomeTeamNS club @ bukit gombak. it was raining at first which was a terrible bummer. waited for quite sometime b4 being able to go down to swim. had a great time swimming. tiring but it felt great.

angels & demons plus awful busrides

caught the movie Angels & Demons today. felt that is was really different from the book itself with the exclusion of a major character and not to mention that twist from the book where someone supposed to die in the story was saved instead. was surprised by the changes and the movie could do even better if it stayed true to the book. nevertheless..it isn't so bad.

life's been boring ever since i fractured my ankle. been stuck at home for close to 3 weeks now and mc's been extending and extending. still can't walk properly though. tamade. -.-

totally miss town, shopping, marina square, esplanade. I MISS GOING OUTTTTT. I WANNA SHOP. i haven even got the chance to wear the new pair of shoes that the gf bought for me from river island. o.O

was in camp when i sprained my ankle. slipped and missed a step from the stairs and fell. landed on my bloody ankle and it hurts like a bitch! hahah. super painful la. cannot even walk properly. had to go report sick b4 it gets any worst. was sent to nuh and they tot i had a fracture until x-ray revealed no fracture. so relieved la. i certainly dun wan a fracture. haha. dammit. now can't walk properly at all. got 5 days mc though. had to stay at home too. went to sinseh today and wow did he really rub my leg. freaking hurts man. just hope i can recover soon by saturday. ):

spent quite alot this week i think. but gotten alot of stuff that i liked!! haha. okay..was out with the gf at suntec and den decided to go into giordano. and over there..a black long-sleeved pullover caught my eye and next..i saw a 60% discount sign over it! OOOO. okay so i tried it on, it fits and i paid 20 bucks for it. talk about getting a bargain! haha.

den on sunday..went to zouk's flea market. and finally found a vest! it was from topman but selling at 35 bucks so out went the money and the vest is mine. after tat grabbed this badge selling at 1 dollar and promptly dropped by wisma isetan to get an agnes b badge which i've been eyeing for so long! haha. all this spending made me a poorer guy and my parents are now nagging me. haha guess i can't do shopping anytime soon. ):

been quite a while since i updated cos mainly it was busy busy busy for me and i'm quite lazy to blog too. lol.

been getting attacked by mozzies in camp like nobody's business. blardy little fuckers. only serve to irritate me only and sometimes even causing me to be unable to sleep at night. omgggg.

and i'm finally declared an ooc. hope that things will look up for me since being at that place really sucks no matter what some ppl say. lol.

and chinese new year is here. din get much ang baos though due to the fact that i dun have much time to go on house visits as i had to book in on the third day already. zzz. nevertheless it was a great break. besides, i managed to buy a long-sleeved pullover. quite happy, but not satisfied yet. i still wan a vest and a sleeveless pullover. plus a agnes b badge to put on the vest! heh.

and i put in pokemon to play in my psp! hahaha. it was fun and nostalgic pls. how many times do u have the chance to catch'em all and play the good old game? plus it was seriously quite fun too.

Merry X'mas to alllllll! heh. hope u guys enjoy ur xmas and new year celebrations. anyways shall update thanks to the highness' demands. lol.

firstly, caught "The day the Earth stood Still". Great movie which carries a message about the current situation of global warming and the damage humans are causing to the planet. Keanu Reeves's performance is good as usual with even a scene where he tried to speak a few lines of chinese which drew out laughter from the audience. This movie just highlights the fact that its high time the human race do something or more for Mother Nature.

Next, watched 'Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist' last saturday.

I liked this movie alot. Romantic, loving, funny and outrageous. It follows the antics of nick & norah while they're in search of norah's SERIOUSLY drunk friend and ultimately looking for their favourite band in one wild night. Watching the show just makes me miss the days when i'm out with my friends and looking at them drunk. HAHA. but army took that all away.. tsk. anyway u guys out there shld watch the show. its gooooooood.

Finally..CHRISTMAS. grabbed an Agnes` B necklace for the gf.

NICE RIGHT? its freaking pretty and all and makes me jealous of the gf for having it. She got me a Zara leather slingbag which is something that i've been looking for. and oh wow..she got it at an discounted price! #$$!#%#%%*. haha. =x went to G2000 to grab a shirt. and both of us were dumb enuff to think that the shirts have a new pocket on them when its actually just the sleeve being folded in such a way that it looks like a pocket. DOH. luckily i discovered it in time and at the end bought one shirt.

Nat champs '08 has finally ended. NP din do well at all for tis year. IVP men got 4th. Rowdy Boyz din do as well either. I joined Rowdy Men and got a silver in Div B Opens. wtf..silver again. its like a curse. argh. worse is that we conceded a equalising goal in the last 30 secs. how close is that from our gold? and at the end we conceded another golden goal. freak man. i'm terribly disappointed. we were even closer den last year. wtf man. so freaking pissed. anyway gonna continue playing when i have time. and form another team with ppl of my batch. train together. argh.

the last weekend of spcpc just ended. it ended abruptly and painfully for us. lost to classico and redtide in deciding matches. totally put off by our disappointing results. played against SP Z yesterday..it was a good fight but still, we had a chance to win. if not for the bad pass, if not for that open goal..we wouldn't have lost 0-1. damm.

at the end of the day, monsters went on to win girl's champion while el classico were the winners in the mens category. they beat rookies in a really exciting match. daren is a realli good player. haha entertaining and inspiring. esp when he played against redtide..the redtide ppl are just -.-. blaa. just wanna train more.
